So today is my mom's birthday. I won't say how old she is because she'd likely drive the hour or so to my house and find ways to slowly hurt me, but let's say this: she's one year older than she previously was. I'll let you do the rest from there. I decided to title this post "Betty's Birthday" for a few reasons. One is because I know it would bug her if I called her Betty and frankly, it's fun to bug your mom. Highly recommended if you haven't tried it already, but what am I saying? Of course you have.
It's also alliteration, which I find fun. Yes, those are the kinds of things I find fun. Blame her if you think it's weird. She's the one who raised me.
Here's a little confessional though: I never know what to buy my mom when it comes to presents. Never. The past few times, I've gotten her electronics because that's what I like and can explain to her, but what do you get the mom who has some things but tells you she doesn't want anything else?
Well, a blog post, I guess.
Mom, since I know you're reading this, I love you. Sometimes, I grump that I have to help you fix the technology I made you get, I probably don't come home as often as you'd want me to, and I'm clearly bad at getting you presents for birthdays, but I love you.
I hope your birthday is amazing. This new year has great things in store.
