Yeah, I'm looking at you. Sitting there at your computer, or smartphone, or maybe somebody printed this out and handed it to you. I don't care how you're reading this.
That, of course, is separate from the act of reading this. You're not awesome because you come to my blog. You're awesome and you come to my blog.
Life has a way of getting us down, doesn't it? I know I've been there. And not in a past-tense, "well, when I was as troubled as you..." type of way. I mean, I've been there all this week. I know what it's like to want to stay in bed just five minutes longer. I know how it feels to feel bad, even if you can't quite figure out why.
You know what? We're okay anyway.
Anything we go through can be a story. It can be a story of triumph, of overcoming, or it can be a story of being overcome. All that matters is the telling.
So get yourself up out of bed, or up off the floor, because sometimes that's where life kicks us down to, and let's tell a great story.
Because, like I said, you're awesome.
Today, and only today, you can do anything you want. You can read or write or draw or work or rest or dance or run or any of a hundred thousand other things that might wind up on your doorstep. The only question is, will you?
You know what you need to do. You've known what you need to for a long time now, I bet. But you've been scared, haven't you? There's something holding you back, holding you down.
It's time to let that go. Or let it let you go.
Or just let you go. Let yourself do these things. Give yourself the freedom to mess up. To run too slow. To dance too stupid. To write too bad.
It probably won't be all that bad.
Because, remember, you're awesome.
